  • Agent teams, not chatbots: what a digital employee actually does

Most people’s first experience of AI is a chat window. You ask, it answers, and you copy the result somewhere useful. That is helpful, but it still leaves the work with you. An agent team is different.

Agents do the work, not just the talking

We run our own business on Adam AI. Our agents handle lead generation, manage websites and social media, raise quotes, run billing and reconciliation, and obtain, check and post invoices. Like employees, they have email and can work across the same systems your people use, within the permissions you give them.

    Context is king

A rented chatbot is like a temp from an agency: capable, but starting from scratch every time. An agent team on your own hardware builds up knowledge of your customers, products and processes, and keeps it. That is what makes it better every month.

    People stay in control

Anything that matters, from sending a quote to posting on social media, can be set to wait for a person to approve it. Every action is logged, so you can always see who, or what, did what.

One AI for the whole business

You would not let every department choose its own CRM. AI is the same. The real benefit comes from one private AI that connects your systems, rather than a dozen separate tools that each know a little.

  • Why AI readiness comes before AI

A loose wheel at walking pace is an annoyance. At 300 miles an hour it is a disaster. AI is the same. It speeds up everything in your business, including the weaknesses.

Your staff are probably already using AI

Adam AI started because our clients asked how to use AI safely, and our own risk assessments could not recommend the public tools. At the same time, our monitoring showed staff using them anyway, including managers who had backed the policies against them. Banning AI does not work. Giving people a safe alternative does.

Mistakes scale as fast as results

An agent with the wrong access does not make one mistake, it makes thousands in the time a person makes one. Connecting a powerful AI to every system without proper access control quietly hands decisions over to software.

What an AI Readiness assessment covers

    • Your IT environment and the basic security controls that need to be in place
    • Which systems and data the AI should and should not be able to reach
    • Who approves what the agents do, and how every action is logged
    • Which processes will deliver the quickest, safest return

Getting this right first is what makes it safe to move fast afterwards. That is why AI Readiness is step one of every Adam AI deployment.

  • Digital sovereignty: four questions every board should ask about AI

Digital sovereignty has moved from an IT concern to a boardroom one. Once AI is reading your email, your contracts and your customer records, the question is no longer just whether it works. It is who is in control. These are the four questions we suggest every board asks before an AI system goes live.

    1. Who controls our data?

Where is the data stored, who can access it and can the supplier use it to train their own models? With Adam AI the data stays on hardware in your business, under your access controls, and is never used for training.

    2. Which jurisdiction applies?

If your data sits in another country’s cloud, another country’s laws may apply to it. Keeping AI on your own premises in the UK keeps that question simple.

    3. Who is accountable for what the AI does?

An AI agent that can send emails, raise quotes or update records needs the same governance as a member of staff: clear permissions, approvals for anything that matters and a full audit trail of every action.

    4. Do we have operational certainty?

What happens if a supplier changes its pricing, its terms or its service? Systems you own and run yourself cannot be switched off or repriced by someone else.

    How we use frontier models

Adam AI uses Anthropic’s Claude to orchestrate your agents, set up privacy first: training on your data is off, any context shared is kept for no more than 30 days, and your data itself stays on your own hardware. We walk every client through these settings before go-live.

  • Don’t rent intelligence. Own it.

Almost every business is now being told to adopt AI. Most of them end up doing it the same way: a subscription per user, a usage bill that grows every month, and a set of tools that live inside somebody else’s platform. That is renting. It is quick to start, but it has three problems that only get bigger over time.

    1. Your data goes somewhere else

Public AI tools work best when you share more with them. That is exactly the wrong incentive for a business that holds client data, financial records or anything covered by GDPR. Every prompt is a decision about what leaves your control.

    2. Your costs grow with every user

Per-seat and per-token pricing means the more value you get, the more you pay. A team that uses AI well gets a bigger bill, not a better deal.

    3. What you build belongs to the platform

The prompts, workflows and knowledge your people build up inside a rented tool are hard to take with you. If the price changes, the terms change or the product disappears, you start again.

    What owning it looks like

Adam AI puts a private AI machine inside your business and builds a team of agents on it. Your data stays on your own hardware. The agents learn how your people work and keep that knowledge for you, the way a permanent member of staff does, rather than a temp who forgets everything when the contract ends.

Owning your AI is not about avoiding the leading models. It is about using them on your terms: with your data under your control, your costs predictable and your know-how staying in your business.
